David Walliams lost his contract with book publisher.
Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.
A spokesman for the firm stated: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the decision was made after an investigation into claims about inappropriate behaviour involving women.
The publisher did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams stands as a most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding in excess of 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.
Several of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
He has published more than 40 books altogether, including a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was awarded an OBE in 2017 for his services to the charitable sector and arts community.
The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss last fall.
