Charli XCX Plays a Twisted Persona of Herself in Satirical Film Teaser
The celebrated musician is gearing up for a major film presence in 2026, kicking off with the satirical film titled The Moment.
Throughout the movie, Charli plays what she calls as a twisted version of herself.
It’s the realest depiction of the entertainment world that I’ve ever encountered, the performer commented.
She elaborated in a discussion: This isn’t a concert film, but the idea came from the demand to make one.
A Glimpse into The Moment
The debut trailer, launched on this week, mixes authentic footage from her recent tour with made-up off-stage interactions.
The mockumentary is helmed and co-scripted by her collaborator, who explained that the narrative revolves around a world where the singer opted for alternate decisions during the promotion of her chart-topping release Brat.

The mockumentary is a single one of numerous future film appearances for the star, who recently featured in three cinematic festival entries this year.

Additionally, she signed on to appear in Dakota Johnson’s maiden directing project A Tree in Blue.

Soundtrack Involvement
Next February will also bring the launch of Emerald Fennell’s version of Wuthering Heights, which will showcase new music from Charli.
She is also set to compose the score for the drama Mother Mary, featuring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel, planned for launch next year.
The film will be released on 30 January.
